The Swordbox

You will need:
-
A large cardboard box (large enough for your assistant to sit in).
Six cardboard swords (make them with stiff card and cover them in foil or paint them silver
so that they look real).
Coloured paper.
Paint.
Glue.
Scissors.
A friend who can keep a secret.
Bart says: There is a lot of preparation to do before you can start this trick. It is hard work but if you do it properly your trick will be EXTRAORDINARY! Paint your box and decorate it with paper shapes like stars, moons and planets. Now do some planning with your friend. Ask your friend to sit in the box and make holes in the box so that when you push the swords through they fit around him / her prefectly. Make sure that the holes in the box are made neatly so that your audience will not know that they are already there. Now you are ready to start your trick.

-
After showing your audience the inside of the box your friend gets in and sits facing the back of the box.
Turn the box around and at the same time your friend sits the way they did when you made the holes in the box.
Show your audience your "sharp" swords and wave your wand over them and the box.
Begin to push the swords into the box. Your friend isn't facing the audience and can help guide the
swords into the box. Your friend moans and groans and the audience will be horrified thinking that they are getting
hurt.
Remove all the swords one at a time.
Turn the box around and your friend can leap out.
Your friend will be unharmed and your audience will be impressed by your magical powers.
